The county board of supervisors will hold a public hearing Monday, Oct. 6 at 9 am for the purpose of approving the current county budget.
The amendment calls for a total of $350,369 added revenues and $523,998 added expenditures.
The largest portion of the increased revenue shows funds that will pass through the county as state Economic Development Set-Aside (EDSA) funds for the expansion project at Scranton Manufacturing. The county is serving as fiscal agent for that grant.
That same EDSA entry, $349,340, shows up in the expense portion of the budget. Other expenses in the budget amendment are $100,000 to be used in the event that the multi-county mental health region of which Greene County is part buys into a new sub-acute crisis center; $35,000 for repair to the stained glass dome in the courtroom (see Sept. 17 post); and increases in the cost of a sheriff’s office vehicle and contracted human resources costs.
The amended budget shows total revenues of $10,991,356 and total expenditures of $11,262,560. The ending fund balance June 30, 2015, is projected at $3,749,554.
